Helen & Andy eloped to Frieda and the Moon
Helen & Ian eloped to Frieda & the moon in South Cornwall. We had a wonderful day at Frieda & the Moon and visited later some dramatic locations on Cornwalls beautiful Coast. Their beautiful Day ended saying their vows in the evening with a a beautiful candlelit setup in the woods.
Why did you choose to Elope? Frieda and the Moon
We care so deeply about our family and friends and if money and difficult family relationships weren’t a factor then we probably would have had a bigger wedding. We are also huge people pleasers and knew that if we did have a big wedding we would get lost amongst it all and really didn’t want that. However, it was meant to be this way and it was perfect because those who truly love us and want us to be happy, surrounded us with their love, even though it wasn’t in person.
What inspired you to choose Cornwall for your elopement?
We have always loved the magic of the coast and Cornwall is one of the most beautiful places. The sea air is good for the soul.
How much time did you take to plan your elopement?
Around a year and then Covid got in the way, so slightly longer.
Tell us a little bit about what you chose to wear & why,
We would have got married in our sweatshirts and jeans as we’ve waited so long! What we wore wasn’t a huge factor in the day but it did feel special to wear something we wouldn’t usually.
Any information about your florist or hair, makeup & your venue
Babs at Frieda and the Moon made Faye and I our very own tailor made purple bouquets and flower crowns, which were beautiful. Babs even included some shells on my bouquet to tie in with our coastal theme. Frieda and the Moon is a very magical place, where you are made to feel like it’s your own home from the day you arrive. This helped us to feel so at ease on our big day.
Elopement Advice for couples
It definitely was the best decision for us to elope to Cornwall and eased some of the stress associated with arranging a bigger wedding. You can really make the day yours and savour each moment.
Why you chose Enchanted Brides Photography as your Photographer
For me choosing our elopement photographer uk was the most important aspect of our wedding planning. As a keen and very amateur photographer myself, you know the type, the one who has to take 10 more shots just in case the first 9 weren’t right, the person that’s always trying to capture each moment to cherish, whilst annoying their loved ones!! When we came across Enchanted Brides & Cornwall Elopements (Jo and Patrick) we were absolutely blown away by their stunning photography, their photos always look so natural and so much fun! It was really good to follow Enchanted Brides on social media, as we felt like we knew Jo and Patrick before we even met them! We knew they were the ones for us and we are so incredibly lucky to have met two beautiful human beings! They captured our special day in the most magical way and we can’t thank them enough. Jo and Patrick really made us all feel so at ease with being in front of the camera and we’re so kind with our daughter Faye.
Your favourite memory from your special day
It’s too hard to pick a favourite, but saying our own vows to one another was definitely a highlight, as well as Faye being able to be one of our witnesses. Another highlight was when Faye made a comment about all the kissing that Mummy and Daddy did, saying that “Daddy was in the zone, the sexy zone!!!”
Anything else at all to help inspire other couples to elope?
Eloping makes you focus on the love you both share and why you chose to get married in the first place.
