Zoe and James recently eloped to Cornwall. It was such a beautiful and romantic day. We hiked around Logan’s Rock and Zoe made it look super easy in her beautiful dress. They both ended their magical elopement barefoot, in the sea on a very quiet Porthcurno beach with the softest and prettiest of sunsets. The perfect day and perfect couple. We chose to elope,
we didn’t want the fuss or the price tag of a big wedding. We just wanted it to be more tailored to us and not having to please the masses. When we first visited Cornwall we just knew it was the right decision for us, as well being more romantic to run away together even though our family and friends were disappointed.
Cornwall holds a special place in our hearts,
it was the first place we went on holiday together, and have every year since. The feeling of remoteness and the rugged scenery are some of the most beautiful in the world. So, we always knew that this was the place we wanted to get married. Our Elopement has taken two years in the planning due to other commitments, however these aside it would have been possible to organise in a year or less, which is another plus of eloping. We are both old souls at heart and wanted to wear clothing befitting to this, we often joke that we were born into the wrong era and have never done anything in the modern sense. We also felt that a more vintage feel was in keeping with the scenery.
Our Wedding Suppliers
We can personally recommend (well Zoe can) the hair and make up artist Ione recommended through BOHO Cornwall, who although busy herself on the day provided a colleague who did a beautiful job, understanding exactly what was asked for providing this and more and made me feel at ease. Another benefit of eloping is that last minute decisions are still possible, we were unsure if we wanted any flowers, we are so glad we changed our minds! We contacted a local florist and they provided the most beautiful bouquet and buttonhole using fresh seasonal flowers understanding the style we were looking for. Just do it, don’t listen to anyone else,
you won’t regret it! This is one of the most important days of the rest of your life together and you have to do what is right for you.
The elopement pictures speak for themselves.
We are both wild at heart and wanted pictures to reflect this, after all we went hiking on our first date. When we saw Enchanted Brides work, we knew straight away that they were the best fit for us, a traditional photographer wouldn’t do. On meeting Jo and Patrick, they made us feel at ease, it was like being photographed by old friends. They are extremely knowledgeable on the local areas and will know the best locations for you. They were breath-taking and we even revisited after our wedding day to explore further without the wedding attire (clambering in a dress is quite the feat, but well worth it).
Our Favourite part was getting married and exchanging vows.
The Hike and pictures come a close 2nd, Zoe is especially fond of the walk in the sea.

Follow Your Heart and Runaway to the Sea
Thank you both so much, for all your help and your pictures have exceeded our expectations. We both have had a lot of great feedback about the pictures and even family and friends have said if they get married, they would love to use yourselves. But here in lies the magic of you only do elopements which makes the pictures even more special, as we feel they are very personal to us. We have received our photos and they are amazing. We are both very thankful to you and Patrick for giving us memories that we will cherish forever. Thank you so much – Mr and Mrs Edmunds.
